Christina Galbiati is a designer, educator and artist.
Tina is passionate about emphasizing the importance of print media, juxtaposing chaotic print patterns with reduced form via collage. The result is a subtle homage to craft and pop art with contemporary allure. Her subject matter is diverse; creating socially themed and conceptual imagery, as well as pictorial images for younger audiences. She has been listed in the UK’s Aesthetica Magazine Artist Directory, and has exhibited in group shows in Pennsylvania and New York City; notably in Penn State Lehigh Valley’s “Words and Images” group show, as well as Clio Art Fair, and juried “Curator’s Choice” in the 18th Annual Viridian Artists Exhibition in NYC. Tina is also a practicing graphic artist for over twenty years; she designed for needlecraft brand Bucilla Corporation, Musselman Advertising, Taylor and Francis, and currently her own freelance studio in Hazleton, PA. She recently designed Appleseed Recordings 21st Anniversary cd package.
She also lends her time and talent for several organizations and causes; she recently created a diversity-themed type mural with a Maya Angelou quote for the Hazleton Integration Project. This is the Center’s first mural—to commemorate, she created a limited edition signed and numbered giclee series (50) of the art-—all proceeds benefiting the HIP organization.
Tina received her MFA from Marywood University and BFA from Kutztown University. She is an adjunct professor of graphic design at Moravian College and Penn State Lehigh Valley; and has also taught at Lehigh University, Kutztown University and Marywood University, respectively.
