I designed my logo with an “eye” inspiration many years ago—full disclosure: I created an iteration of this eye with CS (my maiden name) back in undergrad—so, rather than depart from it completely, because it has become identifiable to my practice, I didn’t want to stray from it. I aimed for a modern, bold, and symmetrical square proportion in this refresh, while ensuring the refined form could be used for both my design and artwork/illustration disciplines. To create this cleaner and cohesive form, I applied a Gestalt Theory approach of Similarity in order to unify the logo form and typography. A minimal grayscale color palette was chosen to ensure all deliverables remain the focus, while allowing visual hierarchy to subtly emerge.
